Anthony Beauvillier is back on a two-year deal averaging $2.1 million, and with that signing the Islanders have signed all of their restricted free agents and are on track for training camp without any contract disputes.
With Beauvillier signing, he enters an Islanders camp with a packed roster for forwards. Beauvillier has long been seen as a linemate with Mat Barzal. However, Beauvillier’s 28 points (10 assists, 18 goals) is not sufficient for him to be a top-winger.
However, we’ve seen flashes of brilliance from the former first-round pick. In the second half of the 2017-18 season, Beauvillier scored a total of 29 points. If the Islanders are to be successful this season, they’ll need their top-six to overachieve.
The Islanders problem last season was lack of scoring — they ranked towards the bottom of the NHL last season. That can’t happen for the Islanders to be successful. The Islanders will need Beauvillier to produce like was the last 40 games of the 2017-18 season.

With Beauvillier playing with Barzal, Beauviller could be a 40-50 point guy, which will be a huge boost for the Islanders. The Islanders need players to step up to produce on offense, and Beauvillier is a player definitely can step up.
