Islanders Travel to MSG to Take on Rangers

Coming off a big win against Pittsburgh, the Islanders hope to keep the train rolling. The Islanders will travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the Rangers tonight. The win on Saturday was the Islanders first win in six games, snapping their five game losing streak. The team played well and showed a lot of heart and hustle.

Jordan Eberle scored a pair of goals in the first period with more to follow by Cal Clutterbuck and Anders Lee in the remainder of the game. Semyon Varlamov also recorded his 236th win in his 500th showing. This was a very strong showing by the Islanders team and they hope to capitalize on that tonight.

Jordan Eberle Off To A Hot Start

In the first ten games played, Eberle has been one of the brighter spots for the Islanders this season. With five goals and two assists, he is leading the team in goals and is second to Barzal in points. In the game against Pittsburgh Eberle scored two goals helping to lead his team to the victory.

Mathew Barzal Looks To Extend Point Streak

One of the Islanders most important pieces to their puzzle this season, Mathew Barzal is hoping to extend his five game point streak. Over this streak he has acquired seven points off of two goals and five assists. He has been a very vital piece of the offense this season and looks to continue to show that tonight. Barzal leads the team in assists with seven, and points with eleven this season.

Rangers Storylines

The Rangers are coming into this game having won their last two games. The Rangers have yet to announce who will be starting in goal tonight. With this they also are on a three game point streak going 3-0-1 over that time. They hope to keep this streak alive in the shortened season.

Rangers left winger, Artemi Panarin has a four game point streak alive as well. He has scored nine points during that stretch with three goals and six assists. He also leads the Rangers in goals with five, assists with ten, and points overall with fifteen.

MSG+, MSG GO, and NBCSN will all be showing the game tonight with puck drop at 7:00 P.M. at Madison Square Garden.
