Sound Tigers Host Hartford in Wednesday Matineé
The Bridgeport Sound Tigers are still looking for their first win of the 2020-2021 season. The Sound Tigers will host the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday afternoon at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport. It will be the second of 12 meetings between the Sound Tigers and Wolf Pack and the first meeting from Bridgeport.
Last Time Out
The Sound Tigers and Wolf Pack both played their last game against Providence. For the Sound Tigers, penalty trouble hurt them as they blew a 3-2 lead during their home opener on Saturday against the Bruins. Bridgeport took eight penalties but scored two shorthanded goals for the first time in 17 years.
The Hartford Wolf Pack will be playing their first game since last Thursday, where they shutout the Providence Bruins. Hartford is 2-0 to start the season with wins over both Atlantic division foes. Hartford has gotten a lot of help from Rangers prospects, and the future is definitely bright for the Wolf Pack.
Keys to the game
In order for the Sound Tigers to beat Hartford on Wednesday afternoon, they will need to stay out of the penalty box. Keith Kinkaid has had a great start to the season for the Wolf Pack. Bridgeport will need to get around the Wolf Pack defense and try to avoid a late-game collapse for the third straight game. Bridgeport needs to shore up things on defense to protect Jakub Skarek and get more of their veterans chances to score.
The Wolf Pack will need to play a full 60 minutes. In both of their wins, they didn’t score until the second half of the game. Hartford has leaned heavily on goaltender Keith Kinkaid, who recorded the AHL’s first shutout of the season in their win over Providence.
The Sound Tigers will be looking for win number one on the season Wednesday Afternoon against the Hartford Wolf Pack. Puck drop is set for 1 p.m. from Harbor Yard.
