Coming off a tough 4-3 overtime loss, the Islanders look to even up the weekend series against their conference rivals. The Islanders scored three goals tonight off of Brock Nelson, Mathew Barzal, and Josh Bailey. Goalie Semyon Varmalov recorded 27 saves but allowed four goals.

This was a tough loss for them as they were doing well most of the game until the end. They managed to let this one slip away but are looking to right that wrong in today’s rematch. This will be the sixth time these two teams play each other during the month of February.

Oliver Wahlstrom has been playing outstanding lately. He has extended his point streak to three games following his assist to Brock Nelson’s goal last night. He will look to extend that point streak tonight. Over the past three games, Wahlstrom has picked up one goal and two assists.

Dal Colle Is Back

Michael Dal Colle returned to the lineup last night after missing the previous four games with a lower-body injury. Watching him play, it looks like he didn’t miss a step. Dal Colle is a major piece of the Islanders puzzle and with a healthy Dal Colle, the Islanders could be tough to beat.

Islanders Still Yet To Lose In Coliseum

Home-field advantage at its finest. The New York Islanders continue to play some of the best hockey in their house. On the season, they have still yet to lose in regulation at the Nassau Coliseum. They suffered two overtime losses there and have picked up six wins. This makes their record 6-0-2.

Penguins Storylines

In the past five games, the Pittsburgh Penguins have only lost once. They are playing hot right now. More specifically the Penguins have won 10 of their last 16 games played against New York as well. They seem to have their number as of late.

Penguins defenseman, Kris Letang has been playing some of his best hockey lately as well. In yesterday’s game, Letang had three points, off of two goals and one assist, which was a game-high for him. He scored the game-winning goal last night as well.

How To Watch?
