Islanders Look To Remain Hot Against Capitals
The New York Islanders will take on the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night. This will not be an easy game for the Islanders and will prove to be a big test for them. The Islanders have been playing incredibly lately winning their last nine straight, and they are on a 12-game point streak, their longest of the season.
Coming off their confusing but big victory on Sunday, New York will look to remain hot against Washington. The Islanders played the Devils last and won in the shootout, 3-2. Kieffer Bellows and Brock Nelson each had big goals in the game. The biggest one though came from Oliver Wahlstrom who won the game for his team in his first shot in an NHL shootout.
Islanders Storylines
Bellows Has Been Unleashed
Kieffer Bellows has been playing outstanding hockey lately. Over the course of his last two games, he has picked up three goals. When Anders Lee went down, Bellows came in and took the team by storm. He has played very well lately and it should be interesting to see if he can keep this up.
Islanders Point Streak Goes To 12
The Islanders will look to keep their point streak alive in Tuesday’s game. New York will look to also win their tenth straight game. This is the longest point streak of the season for the Islanders and they will look to keep it up.
Wahlstrom Continues Hot Streak
Wahlstrom has been playing incredibly as well during his first season. Arguably he has been playing like someone who has been in the league for years. He scored the game-winning goal in the shoot-out victory on Sunday against New Jersey. Over his last five games, he has two points and on the season he has five goals and ten points.
