UBS Arena at Belmont Park Is Going To Be Amazing
While the New York Islanders continue their 13-game road trip, UBS Arena at Belmont Park is getting closer each day. There have been many positive developments in the last week, so let’s go over them all!
- The team installed their championship banners and retired number banners on Wednesday, Oct. 20, exactly one month before their home opener.
- The top of UBS Arena glows in the moonlight. The building is clear from the sky, especially for people flying in and out of John F. Kennedy International Airport.
- Harry Styles will be the first concert at UBS Arena when he holds a performance on Nov. 28.
- BMW will be the official luxury vehicle of UBS Arena and the Islanders. There will be a BMW Premium Entry and all guests who arrive to the building in a BMW will get free parking.
-
Stop & Shop and the New York Islanders announced a three-year partnership which will focus on mitigating hunger on Long Island.
-
Hyundai Motor America is a Founding Partner of UBS Arena and will be the official non-luxury import vehicle of both the venue and the New York Islanders. Vehicles will be displayed in the building and the The Hyundai Club will be a state-of-the-art luxury sports bar.
- There has been traffic reported on the Cross Island Parkway as UBS Arena and Long Island Railroad construction ramps up. The highway was closed in both directions for parts of Saturday and Sunday.
- Girders were successfully installed last week over the Cross Island Parkway to support the new platforms at the Elmont LIRR station.
- The team spotlighted lifelong fan Robert Miernicki on Twitter, who is installing glass in the arena. “I love what I do, I take pride in what I do and being here at the home of the New York Islanders, what else could I ask for?”
