Journey and Billy Idol Will Play Concert at UBS Arena

Journey is coming to UBS Arena.

The “Freedom Tour 2022” will venture to Belmont Park Feb. 25 with special guest Billy Idol. The 40-show tour is launching Feb. 22 in Pittsburgh — UBS Arena is the third stop, following PPG Paints Arena and Wells Fargo Center. Idol is opening on the first leg of the tour, before TOTO takes over April 7 in San Diego.

“It’s that time — time to get back to where we are used to being — on stage!” Journey guitarist Neal Schon said in a statement. “We are looking forward to shifting into high gear and bringing you the best show possible. The band is running on all 12 cylinders and very excited! Please come and join us once again for an evening full of rocking stage connection fun. See you soon, friends.”

Added Idol: “Touring next year with Journey is going to be great fun! An epic night you won’t want to miss. I’m excited to get back to so many wonderful cities and I’m bringing [guitarist] Steve Stevens and the rest of the Billy Idol band with me!”

Journey last played on Long Island at the Sept. 11 20th anniversary “Never Forget Concert” at Jones Beach.

The Islanders’ first game at UBS Arena is Saturday, Nov. 20 against the Flames. The first concert at the new building — Harry Styles — will be Sunday, Nov. 28.
