Ranking the Top-Ten NHL Arena Exterior Designs

Each NHL team presents a unique, beautiful arena design to their fans as they go to watch their favorite hockey team play. Furthermore, let’s rank the top-ten NHL arena exterior designs!

10. Amalie Arena – Tampa Bay Lightning

Amalie Arena is the home of the 2020 NHL Stanley Cup Champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning. The fantastic on-ice product comes inside of a beautiful arena. One side of it is made with full glass in order for it to appear more modern, and the other side is filled with Tampa Bay Lightning colors and pictures. To top it off, the arena features a staircase with the team logo.

9. Scotiabank Saddledome – Calgary Flames

The Scotiabank Saddledome has one of the most unique and iconic appearances among NHL arenas. Red lights run through the top to show off the roof, creating a design that no other NHL arena has.

8. Enterprise Center – St. Louis Blues

Located in downtown St Louis is the Enterprise Center. The main entrance is full of glass, and the top of the arena shines in green. The roof is also very unique, as it sticks out from the top and shows the dome portion of the arena.

7. Bridgestone Arena – Nashville Predators

Down in Nashville is the beautiful Bridgestone Arena. The arena itself has a gorgeous glass design and dome roof, but the most unique feature is the 22-story tower, which is meant to symbolize a radio tower that would broadcast live events from the Ryman Auditorium.

6. Staples Center – Los Angeles Kings

One of the most well-known arenas is the Staples Center. The glass entrance with the white sides really makes the stadium stand out, and the lights on the outside brighten up the front and the dome roof of the Staples Center.

5. Bell MTS Place – Winnipeg Jets

Bell MTS Place has an excellent, modern appearance. The outside brick provides a more classic look, while the windows retain the arena’s modern display. The glass cylinder by the entrance is an amazing feature, and it really makes the arena stand out. The lights also help illuminate the building and make it glow.

4. T-Mobile Arena – Vegas Golden Knights

T-Mobile Arena is one of the newest stadiums in the NHL, but it is evidently one of the most aesthetically pleasing. The brown color outside of the arena and the giant exterior LED screen brings out the beauty of it. It also features an outdoor terrace right below the LED screen. As the figurative icing on the cake, the purple lights on the exterior truly make the arena look unique.

3. Nationwide Arena – Columbus Blue Jackets

There is a lot to love about the exterior design of this arena. From the outstanding brick design to the AEP Tower on the roof, the looks on the outside of Nationwide Arena do not disappoint. It presents a very classic look, which fits the city of Columbus quite well.

2. American Airlines Center – Dallas Stars

Located in the Victory Park neighborhood in downtown Dallas, Texas is the amazing structure of the American Airlines Center. The classic brick structure with the white curved roof, as well as the rest of the exterior of the arena, is truly amazing.

1. Rogers Place – Edmonton Oilers

The $499 million arena is visually astonishing. Completed in 2016, Rogers Place presents a very futuristic look. The color of the outside of the building looks unreal, and the arena even extends over the street. Rogers Place is a one-of-a-kind representation of the future of NHL arenas.
